Affiliated to :     Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur

Qualification  :     SLC Passed or Minimum “C” grade with compulsory Math, Science & English

Radiological Technology or Radiography is a relatively new allied health profession that has grown in leaps and bounds in recent years. With the advent of computers and the increased use of technology in the health care setting, the profession is growing faster than health care facilities can recruit staff. Radiographers are at the cutting edge of scientific progress, working with latest advances in medical care. There are so many fields of advanced level specialties such as Radiological Technologist, Computed Tomography technologist, Ultrasonographer.  A career in radiological technology can lead in many directions. Now a day radiographers are much in demand both in rural and urban areas. Positions are available government's as well as private hospitals, diagnostic imaging centers and public health services. The demand for radiological technologists/radiographer is strong across the country, in every health care setting as well as internationally.

Aims and Objectives of the Program

The Course aims to produce middle level radiography and imaging human resource with sound academic knowledge with perfect technical skills, which can face real life situation at different level of hospitals and related institutions.

SCOPE OF MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN

  • Highly demanding profession at national and international level since many vacancies are available in government and private hospitals.
  • These services are offered in mobile imaging companies, industrial plants, research centers, government agencies and universities.
  • Opportunities for the job as Radiographer, Diagnostic Radiology following completion of the PCL Radiography course.
  • Highly skilled profession for immigration to abroad like in UK, Canada, Australia.
  • Opportunities to upgrade academic qualification in various areas
  • Bachelor Level includes Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Technology (BSc. MIT), Bachelor of Science in Radiotherapy, Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine, Bachelor of Public Health (BPH).
  • Master Level includes Master of Science in Radiological Technology, Master of Science in Computed Tomography (CT), Master of Science in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Master of Science in Nuclear Medicine, Post Graduate Diploma in Ultrasonography, Master of Public Health (MPH).
